Today was absolutely amazing. We got up at 4am to have a shower and breakfast. The tuktuk picked us up at 4.45am and drove us to Angkor Wat to see the sunrise. Our group of 10 was standing at the lake in front of Angkor Wat, waiting for the sun to rise. Together with about 300 other tourists xD
A lot of tourists go to watch the sunrise t Angkor Wat. It was really great to see the sunrise at the temple, but I think it would have been even better if it would not have been that crowded. We also had a look at the temple from the inside. It was amazing.
The temples are around 1000 years old. Cambodia has done a lot of restoration and conservation work to make them look like they do today. Originally, a lot of the temples collapsed and had to be restored to make them safe for tourists to explore. There were a few information boards at the temples that explained the restoration works and had some before restoration pictures.
In total, we visited 4 temples today. Each single temples had special features that distinguished it from the other temples. For example, Bayon is known for having a lot of stone heads overlooking the temple.
My favourite temple is still the one on top of the hill from yesterday. Probably because not a lot of tourists go there and we had the whole area to ourselves.
In the evening, we had some fun walking through Siem Reap one last time. Some of us my friends tried the foot treatment where you put your feet into a fishtank and let the fish eat your dead skin of your feet. Turns out, some of my friends are really ticklish.
At 11pm, we took the Night bus back to Phnom Penh. The night bus consisted out of a bus with a whole lot of small bunk beds. I would not call the sleep relaxing.

3. Temple

This temple really looked impressive. I was quite big and had three levels.

This is the view from the top of the temple.
4. Temple

This was the 4. Templewe visited. Apparently i is the temple where the movie Tomb Raider was filmed.

Parts of the temple are collapse and have not been restored. This gives it a more "old temple" touch.

I have not seen the movie Tomb Raider, but I can imagine that this is a good setting for an action movie.
