We had to get up really early today to go to the University of Phutisastra to meet our Khmer teacher and some more EWH representatives. We also got a tour around the University and talked to some students at the library. To my surprise, most of the lessons are taught in mixed language. Some English and some Khmer. Literally, the books are written in English on one side and Khmer on the next.

After having some good (and spicy) lunch at the University, we got driven to our homestay families.

The family my group is with, is really nice. They straight away welcomed us in their family.

They cooked some traditional Khmer dinner for us and introduced us to all their neighbours.

We taught them some of the card games we play in Australia and it turns out, Cambodian people have a real talent for card games O.O

Tomorrow is our first proper day at the University. Khmer lessons start at 8am and go to 12pm. After 1h lunch break we then have some technical lessons in the afternoon.

This is the main building of the University.

This is the gate to the University.

This is the small library of the University. All of the student you see in the picture study some kind of medical science. Most of them will become a doctor or nurse when they finished their degrees.

From the highest building of the Uiversity it is possible to overlook a big part of the city. This is what Phnom Penh looks like.

This is the dinner with our homestay family. On the picture you can only see the dad, mother, aunt and son. The grandma and daughter were preparing the dinner for us. it was interesting trying some traditional Khmer food. And it was delicious as well. Definately looking forward to dinner tomorrow. ^.^

The food was reallygood. Because of the dim light in the room it might not look that appatizing. Buttrust me, it was!
